Official Rules
SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U,’ whose corporate address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661 (the "Sponsor").ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win one (1) of two (2) trips to Hawaii. ‘You & Me in O’ahu’ Sweepstakes begins Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 6:00 AM and ends Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 5:59 AM unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ To participate, viewers must watch ‘You & Me This Morning’ weekdays between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM during the Sweepstakes period on ‘WCIU, The U’ for their chance to win. Each day, one (1) Code Word of the Day will be shown during the broadcast of ‘You & Me This Morning’ at three (3) different times throughout each day’s show. To enter the Sweepstakes, viewers must submit the Code Word at WCIU.com by 5:59 AM the following day. Only one (1) entry per person, per Code Word, per email address, per 24 hour period will be accepted (6AM-5:59AM). Two (2) winners will be selected using a computer software winner selection tool from all eligible online entries.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and the Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).
Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U’ reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.
ELIGIBILITY. ‘You & Me in O’ahu’ Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are 21 years of age or older. Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., O‘ahu Visitors Bureau (OVB) and Outrigger Hotels & Resorts, their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, (collectively, “Sweepstakes Parties”), family members are not eligible to enter or win. In addition, individuals who share a common household with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party or who are in any kind of domestic relationship or partnership with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party (e.g., boyfriends, girlfriends, fiancé, roommates) are not eligible to enter or win this Sweepstakes. Sponsor shall be the sole judge of what constitutes a domestic relationship or partnership in the event of a dispute.
PRIZES. Two (2) winners will be awarded a trip for two (2) adults for five (5) nights at Outrigger Hotels & Resorts in Hawaii, valued at $5,245. Prizes include airfare from Chicago, Illinois to Hawaii, the hotel stay, an airport transfer and surf lessons. All other expenses – including, without limitation, meals, souvenirs, transportation to and from airports – are the sole responsibility of the winners. The winners are selected from all correct eligible entries on July 30, 2015. Winners will be first notified via the email address on their entry, followed up by a phone call to the phone number listed on their entry. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries. Once notified, the winners will have 24 hours to claim their Prize. If a winner fails to claim their Prize, it will result in the forfeiture of the Prize and a new drawing may be held from the remaining eligible entries at the discretion of ‘WCIU, The U.’ Prize Winners must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize. At the time of notification, winners will be asked to provide a photo of them to be congratulated on air.
PRIZE RESTRICTIONS & CONDITIONS. Prize is non-transferable. Prize is subject to availability, black-out dates and other restrictions by each respective prize provider. Travel must be completed by June 30, 2016. Winner and guest are responsible for all incidental and personal costs not included in the prize description and any travel fees, baggage fees and taxes. Winner and travel companion must travel on the same itinerary. Partners are not responsible for any additional costs due to travel delay, cancellation or other unforeseen travel circumstances. Additional restrictions may apply. The Prize winners and their travel companion must have a valid ID to travel. Prize Winners must present a valid credit card in the winner’s own name to the hotel at the time of check in to cover any incidentals. There will be no substitute or cash redemption awarded to any Sweepstakes winner. By entering, the winner is consenting to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration, including any in studio appearances.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. Winners are responsible for income and other taxes on the Prizes. Winners and their travel companion will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Publicity Release and Letter of Indemnification within three (3) business days of notification of being a winner. Prize Winners must complete a 1099 form and a copy of their photo ID. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of Prize. Winners will be required to pay taxes on the prize value of $5,245 for the 2015 tax year.
MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U,’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer, telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U,’ where it becomes impracticable to award one or more prizes, ‘WCIU, The U,’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. A copy of these official Sweepstakes rules are available at the ‘WCIU, The U’ offices located at 26 N. If you wish to receive the names of Sweepstakes Prize Winner, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ‘You & Me in O’ahu’ – July ‘15’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any request for the Winners’ names no later than December 20, 2015.
