Official Rules

SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U,’ whose corporate address is 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661 (the "Sponsor").

ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win one (1) large bouquet of roses from FTD Flowers. ‘You & Me and FTD’ Sweepstakes begins Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 6:00 AM and ends Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 12:00 PM unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ To participate, viewers must submit an essay nominating someone to receive a large bouquet of roses, 100 words maximum, on the sweepstakes page at www.wciu.com during the Sweepstakes period for their chance to win. Only one (1) entry per person, per 24 hour period will be accepted (6AM-5:59AM). One (1) winner will be selected from all eligible online entries by a panel of judges from the ‘You & Me’ staff.

Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.

Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and the Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).

Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U’ reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.

ELIGIBILITY. ‘You & Me & FTD’ Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are 21 years of age or older. Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ Weigel Broadcasting Co., FTD Flowers, their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, (collectively, “Sweepstakes Parties”), family members are not eligible to enter or win. In addition, individuals who share a common household with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party or who are in any kind of domestic relationship or partnership with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party (e.g., boyfriends, girlfriends, fiancé, roommates) are not eligible to enter or win this Sweepstakes. Sponsor shall be the sole judge of what constitutes a domestic relationship or partnership in the event of a dispute.

PRIZES. One (1) winner will have their nominated person awarded a large bouquet of roses from FTD Flowers. Total prize value is $599. Winners will be first notified via the email address on their entry, followed up by a phone call to the phone number listed on their entry on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries. Once notified, the winners will have 24 hours to claim their Prize. If a winner fails to claim their Prize, it will result in the forfeiture of the Prize and a new drawing may be held from the remaining eligible entries at the discretion of ‘WCIU, The U.’ Prize Winners must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize. At the time of notification, winners will be asked to provide a photo of them to be congratulated on air. The prize will be delivered to the winner’s nominated person’s work or residence on Friday, May 6, 2016.

PRIZE RESTRICTIONS & CONDITIONS. Prize is non-transferable. Additional restrictions may apply. There will be no substitute or cash redemption awarded to any Sweepstakes winner. By entering, the winner is consenting to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration, including any in studio appearances.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. Winners are responsible for income and other taxes on the Prizes. Winners and their travel companion will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Publicity Release and Letter of Indemnification within three (3) business days of notification of being a winner. Prize Winners must complete a 1099 form and a copy of their photo ID. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of Prize.

MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U,’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer, telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U,’ where it becomes impracticable to award one or more prizes, ‘WCIU, The U,’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. A copy of these official Sweepstakes rules are available at the ‘WCIU, The U’ offices located at 26 N. If you wish to receive the names of Sweepstakes Prize Winner, you must send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to ‘You & Me and FTD Flowers’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661. ‘WCIU, The U’ must receive any request for the Winner’s name no later than December 20, 2016.
