Now through Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at noon CST, fill out the submission form to enter for your chance to win one of 73 different prizes, of a minimum value of $100. See sweepstakes rules for details. Must be 18 years or older to enter or win.
Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Void where prohibited. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification.
1. SPONSOR. This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U,’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661 (the "Sponsor"), which is solely responsible for the conduct of this Sweepstakes. By participating in this Sweepstakes, all participants and prize winner agree that Weigel Broadcasting Co., the Sponsor, their partnerships, prize providers, subsidiaries and affiliates and each of such entities’ respective officers, directors, agents and employees are not responsible or liable for any injury, loss, illness, litigation or damage that may occur from participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prizes. In the event that any dispute arises regarding the meaning or interpretation of these official rules, participants agree that the dispute shall be resolved by applying the laws of Illinois and that it shall be resolved by and within the state or federal courts of that state.
2. ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or win one (1) of seventy three (73) Prizes that will be given away during this Sweepstakes (the “Prize”). ‘Freebie February on The U’ Sweepstakes begins Monday, February 1, 2016 at 6:00 AM CST and ends Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 12:00 PM CST (the “Sweepstakes Period”) unless extended by ‘WCIU, The U.’ To participate, viewers must watch ‘You & Me’ weekdays between 6:00 AM and 9:00 AM during the Sweepstakes Period on ‘WCIU, The U’ for their chance to win. Each day, three (3) different Code Words will be shown during the broadcast of ‘You & Me’ at three (3) different times, one (1) within each of the three (3) hours of the show. To enter the Sweepstakes, viewers must submit at least one (1) and up to three (3) Code Words by 12:00 PM the same day at WCIU.com. Only one (1) entry per person, per Code Word, per entry period will be accepted.
Seventy three (73) winners will be selected using a computer software winner selection tool from all eligible online entries. Four (4) of these winners will be selected as Grand Prize winners. One (1) eligible winner from each week’s entry pool (defined as February 1 – 3 for Week 1; February 4-10 for Week 2; February 11-17 for Week 3 and February 18-March 2 for Week 4) will win one of the Grand Prizes, which are trips to various locations with a minimum value of $1,000. Winners will be selected using a computer software winner selection tool from all eligible online entries.
The only valid time period to watch to participate in this Sweepstakes is during the live viewing of ‘You & Me,’ weekdays from 6 AM – 9 AM on ‘WCIU, The U.’ Acquiring the Code Words via any other station, network, rebroadcast or time period is not applicable to this Promotion and will not be honored.
Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.
Entrants agree not to upload, post or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and the Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person(s) who makes such attempt(s).
Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U’ reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.
3. ELIGIBILITY. ‘Freebie February on You & Me’ Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are eighteen (18) years of age or older. Employees of Weigel Broadcasting Co., ‘WCIU, The U,’ their advertising agencies, Prize Providers, all companies listed in Section 4, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, (collectively, “Sweepstakes Parties”) are not eligible to enter or win, nor are such employees’ family members. In addition, individuals who share a common household with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party or who are in any kind of domestic relationship or partnership with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party (e.g., boyfriends, girlfriends, fiancé, roommates) are not eligible to enter or win this Sweepstakes. Sponsor shall be the sole judge of what constitutes a domestic relationship or partnership in the event of a dispute.

Of these winners, sixty nine (69) will receive a Daily Prize, which are of varying values and Prize Providers. See below for the grid detailing Prizes that will be given away as a Daily Prize. Three (3) winners will be selected each weekday, one (1) from each hour, at 12:01 PM. Minimum value of any Daily Prize offered in this Sweepstakes is $100; maximum value is $1,800.
Four (4) Grand Prizes will be given away during this Sweepstakes of varying values. See below for the grid detailing Prizes that will be given away as a Grand Prize. One (1) Grand Prize winner will be selected on February 3, February 10, February 17 and March 2. The Grand Prizes will have a minimum value of $1,000 and a maximum value of $4,000. The winners will be selected and notified the same day of entry on or after 12:01 PM CST. Winners will be first notified via the email address on their entry, followed up by a phone call to the phone number listed on their entry. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries received. Once notified, the winner will have five (5) business days to claim their Prize. Prize winner must possess a valid picture ID to claim their Prize. Prizes will be delivered to the address on entrants' entry forms within four (4) weeks of winning. Any Prize that doesn't not fit in a standard letter size envelope may require a winner to pick up the Prize at 26 North Halsted, Chicago, Illinois. This Prize list above is subject to change without notice and Weigel Broadcasting Co. reserves the right to add, remove or adjust any of the Prizes listed below. The Prizes listed below are not in the order in which they will be given away on air and no entrant or viewer shall have any expectation that these Prizes are in any way listed in order of distribution.
5. PRIZE RESTRICTIONS & CONDITIONS. These Prizes are non-transferable. Prize winners must abide by the terms and conditions of the Prize Providers and Sweepstakes Parties. There will be no substitute or cash redemption awarded to any Sweepstakes winner beyond the scope of the original Prize described in these official rules. All income and other taxes are the responsibility of the winners. By entering, the winners are consenting to the use of their name, likeness, photograph and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration.
6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY. Winners are responsible for income and other taxes on the Prize. Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Publicity Release and Letter of Indemnification within seven (7) business days of notification of being a winner. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of the Prize.
7. MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U,’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer, telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U,’ where it becomes impracticable to award one or more prizes, ‘WCIU, The U,’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize. This Sweepstakes is void where prohibited, penalized or otherwise restricted by law. 'WCIU, The U' reserves the right to modify these official rules at any time.
